You can name countless artist that gave us classic in the late 80’s and early-mid 90’s…
R&B fell off harder than Hip-Hop. You can find quality hip-hop, you just have to search. But not R&B, thats dead.
Was it because they took the Love out of music? Was it inevitable…
I blame rappers who autotune sing. Kids today think that’s R&B, and a lot of actual singers follow suit. Remember when R. Kelly was the “R&B Thug”? I rest my case.
Anyone who thinks R&B is dead clearly hasn’t listened to Frank Ocean… or The Weeknd… or Janelle Monae.
Janelle Monae isn’t R&B, she’s more like Synth Jazz/Soul/Afro-Electric. Silly white person.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO ONE KNOWS I’M WHITE (EXCEPTTHATMYPICTUREISCLEARLYMEBEINGWHITE).
